Key Characteristics

• Flowers: Features lovely bicoloured petals that are creamy-white at the base with soft lilac-pink edges. The blooms are typically 10-15cm in diameter.
• Height: Grows to a versatile height of 80cm to 1 metre (approx. 32-40 inches).
• Bloom Period: Prolific flowering from July until the first frosts of autumn.
• Usage: Excellent for garden borders and widely considered one of the best varieties for cut flowers due to its long, straight stems and delicate tones.

Cultivation and Care

• Position: Requires full sun in a sheltered spot to protect the flower heads.
• Soil: Thrives in fertile, moist, but well-drained soil.
• Planting: Plant tubers 10-15cm deep in late spring (April-May) after the risk of frost has passed.
• Maintenance: Pinch out the growing tips when the plant reaches 30cm to encourage a bushier habit and more flowers. Regular deadheading will extend the blooming season.
• Overwintering: This is a half-hardy perennial. Lift the tubers in autumn after the first frost has blackened the foliage and store them in a dry, frost-free place.
